The screenwriter Axel Eggebrecht welcomes the audience and in the first five minutes gives an introduction to the career of the SA chief of staff Ernst Röhm and the NSDAP .

The film describes in detail the events that led to the so-called Röhm Putsch . The game scenes are separated from documentary recordings.

Eggebrecht tried to stay as close as possible to the files, only for SA group leader Gruber there does not seem to be a living role model.
