Fritz Strassner

Fritz Straßner , birth name Fritz Pfeifer (born November 23, 1919 in Munich ; † February 7, 1993 ibid), was a German actor who became known primarily for his roles as a Bavarian folk actor .

Life

Straßner was born in 1919 as the illegitimate son of a shoe salesman and a seamstress. Only when the parents were able to get married, the surname was changed to "Straßner". When Straßner was barely a year old, his parents moved with him from Munich to Ottobrunn , where he lived until the end of his life. In Ottobrunn, Straßner attended the forest school for four years, then the municipal higher commercial school for boys in Munich for six years and the Luitpold secondary school for three years .

At the age of eleven, after his first visit to the theater, Straßner wanted to become an actor. At the end of the 1930s he began to take acting lessons in Munich, but was soon drafted into military service in the Navy . He had his first public appearance after the end of World War II in the Shakespeare -Stück Macbeth at the Kammerspiele.

Gradually, roles in films and television series followed, including programs such as Munich Stories , The Strange Methods of Franz Josef Wanninger or Komödienstadel , where he played with other folk actors such as Gustl Bayrhammer , Beppo Brem and Erni Singerl . The busy actor was still very present on the Munich stages. From 1975 to 1993 he played the main role in the popular play Der Brandner Kaspar and the eternal life in the Residenztheater in over 700 performances .

In Meister Eder und seine Pumuckl he played the hard-of-hearing regulars' table brother Herr Lederer. Even in the new radio plays he had a. a. Eder's regulars, Bernbacher and Schmitt, the customer Mr. Gerstl and the mechanic Mr. Schrader; He had his first appearance in the old series with Alfred Pongratz as Meister Eder in Der Blutfleck auf dem Stuhl as an antique dealer Herr Grainer, all other roles had only been spoken in the new series.

Fritz Straßner died unexpectedly on the night of February 7, 1993. He was buried in the cemetery in Unterhaching .
