State actor
The term state actor has had different meanings throughout history. In National Socialist Germany it was the highest title that could be bestowed on stage actors. Since 1945 the meaning has changed. In Baden-Württemberg z. B. it is no longer an honorary title, but a service title .

time of the nationalsocialism
In National Socialist Germany, the prize was presented by the Reich Minister for Public Enlightenment and Propaganda , Joseph Goebbels . It was a purely honorary title that was not associated with any financial advantage. Since important stage actors were always used in films under National Socialism - the medium, which is important for propaganda, was to be upgraded in this way - the award winners were also regularly known to the audience as film actors. Pure screen stars, on the other hand, had no prospects of being awarded the title.
