Hans-Georg Körbel

Hans-Georg Körbel (born January 25, 1948 in Berlin ) is a German actor .

Life

Hans-Georg Körbel studied at the Leipzig Theater School . For a long time he played at the Dresden State Theater , after 1989 he was initially engaged at the Badisches Staatstheater Karlsruhe and later at the Mainfranken Theater in Würzburg . At the beginning of the 2001/02 season, Körbel moved to the Saarland State Theater in Saarbrücken, whose ensemble he was a member until summer 2013.

In Saarbrücken, Körbel was among others Willy Loman in Arthur Miller's Death of a Salesman and Harro Hassenreuter in Gerhart Hauptmann's Ratten . In the Shakespeare plays Hamlet and Much Ado About Nothing , he embodied Claudius and the role of Leonato .

During the GDR era in particular , Körbel was a very busy television actor and played recurring characters in various series. In the series Polizeiruf 110 he played one of the investigating officers in three episodes. After 1990 he was only seen sporadically in a few Tatort episodes of the Saarland Broadcasting Corporation .

On the occasion of his departure from the stage, Körbel was awarded the title state actor in 2013 .
