Stories übern garden fence and new übern garden fence is a television series of the television of the GDR . It was broadcast in 2 seasons.
The setting is the fictional allotment garden “Ulenhorst”, which is in turmoil when a divorced woman and four children move in. The episodes, integrated into a seasonal grid, tell of the interpersonal and neighborly relationships as well as the allotment garden environment in very different facets.

The series was filmed in the Dresden Hellersiedlung and in Dresden-Naußlitz in the garden section "Happy Hour".
Claudia Gallus , one of Jutta Fleck's two daughters , played the role of Birgit Hoffmann in both seasons .
In the second season, the roles of Claudia Schubert and Harry Hahn had to be re-cast, because the two original actors Monika Woytowicz and Bodo Wolf had left for the Federal Republic of Germany.
For Rolf Herricht it was his last role. After his untimely death, he was absent from several episodes of the first season. In the second, his role was not refilled. Adolf Peter Hoffmann also died before the first broadcast.
