Manfred Richter (born January 3, 1944 in Magdeburg , † April 20, 2012 in Berlin ) was a German actor .

life and work

Manfred Richter initially worked as a lathe operator, while doing competitive sports as a boxer for the Dynamo Magdeburg and the Dynamo Berlin, where he was not yet discovered by director Ulrich Thein as a young daredevil for his television film Title I haven't yet . He then studied acting at the State Drama School in Berlin from 1964 to 1967 , followed by engagements at stages in Dresden and Freiberg, before working as a freelancer from 1977.

Since the late 1960s he also appeared in many cinema and television productions in the GDR . After reunification , he often played supporting roles in various television series, including Polizeiruf 110 or Praxis Bülowbogen . In addition, he worked as a theater actor on smaller stages, such as the Berliner Kammerspiele , the Dresden Comedy or the Neue Schaubühne Munich , occasionally as a voice actor .

On April 20, 2012, Manfred Richter died of cardiac arrest in a Berlin hospital.
