Werner Zillig

Werner Zillig (born October 22, 1949 in Haßlach near Kronach ) is a German writer and linguist .

Life

Werner Zillig studied German , history and sociology in Erlangen , Tübingen and Münster and received his doctorate in 1981 in Münster with an examination of the 'speech act assessing '. He then worked as a university assistant for German linguistics at the University of Münster. He completed his habilitation with an analysis of the 'text type propriety book' and became a university lecturer at the University of Münster. From 1996 to 2002 he lived in Lille , then in Igls . In 2008 Zillig was appointed honorary professor for linguistics at the University of Innsbruck . In addition to linguistic research, he also worked out a bibliography for the etiquette book since Knigge .

He published his first fiction texts as Heinrich Werner in various science fiction anthologies. The publication of his first volume of short stories in 1980 was supported by Herbert W. Franke . In 1984 he published Die Parzelle, a utopia in which society provides all dropouts with limited areas in which they can experiment with drugs without penalty.

When memory had declared its departure from the fantastic genre, Seventeen Sentences was awarded the Kurd-Laßwitz Prize . In the short novel Der neue Duft , published at the same time , he used Thomas Mann's tale Death in Venice as a template for an SF story.
