Franz Josef Busemann

Franz Josef Busemann (born November 4, 1947 in Datteln ) is a former German decathlete and athletics trainer .

Busemann was active in the Recklinghäuser LC in the 1970s , his best performance in the high jump was 2.01 m. In the decathlon he reached 7087 points on August 21 and 22, 1971 in Recklinghausen. Busemann was a secondary school teacher.

Busemann and his wife Sybille have two sons, Frank (* 1975) and Lars (* 1978), whom he also trained. Frank Busemann finished second in the decathlon in Atlanta in 1996 . Lars Busemann was a pole vaulter with a personal best of 5.50 m.

After the end of his sons' careers, Franz Josef Busemann took over the training of the all-rounder at LG Olympia Dortmund in 2003 .
