Alfred Pongratz

Alfred Pongratz (born September 29, 1900 in Munich , † October 4, 1977 ibid) was a German opera singer (baritone), actor and speaker .

Life

After finishing school, Pongratz attended the M. Feuerlein singing school in Munich, where he took lessons from the chamber singer Matthäus Roemer from 1928 to 1930 . At the same time he completed an acting training with M. Olschinsky . In 1930 he made his stage debut in Munich as Zani in Joseph Haydn's opera Die Welt auf dem Monde . This was followed by numerous engagements at speaking and music theaters in Munich (including the Münchner Kammerspiele ).

In 1939 Pongratz also made his film debut. Here Pongratz often played in homeland films such as Im Weisse Rößl (next to Johannes Heesters ) and Der Jäger von Fall (based on Ludwig Ganghofer ), popular comedies such as The Bartered Grandfather and fairy tale films ( Zwerg Nase , Die Bremer Stadtmusikanten , Frau Holle ). He starred in a total of five films under the direction of the Bavarian character comedian Joe Stöckel ( Peterle , Die chaste Sünderin , One heart beats for you , Two in one suit and uproar in paradise ).

In addition, Pongratz played guest roles in television series such as Funkstreife Isar 12 with Wilmut Borell and Karl Tischlinger or in the Royal Bavarian District Court with Hans Baur and Georg Blädel and took part in numerous theater productions of the comedy nobility recorded by ARD .

On October 4, 1977, Alfred Pongratz died of a heart attack while filming in Munich . After his death, his colleague Gustl Bayrhammer , who had previously been heard in supporting roles (including a regular at Meister Eder), took on the role of Meister Eder for further radio play productions and the subsequent television series .
