Franz Fröhlich (actor)

Franz Fröhlich (born October 10, 1901 in Munich ; † July 26, 1964 there ) was a Bavarian folk actor .

Life

Fröhlich, a Munich stage actor, made his film debut in 1936 in Die Jugendsünde (with Max Schultes and Georg Bauer ). Numerous appearances in homeland films and comedies followed . In 1942, he played alongside Josef Eichheim and Winnie Markus in The selling grandfather , 1955 next Wastl Witt in the classic Class of Ludwig Thoma as an economist Silvester Gsottmaier, 1956 next to Joe Stoeckel and Gunther Philipp in IA in Upper Bavaria . In his final years, the actor worked on several plays of the comedy nobility , including Die Drei Eisbären (1961) and Der Geisterbräu (1963). Until his death at the age of 62 he was the first speaker for Meister Eder in the radio play version of Meister Eder and his Pumuckl .

He was buried in Munich's Westfriedhof .
