The big issue
The Big Issue is an internationally known and successful British street newspaper written by professional journalists and mostly sold by homeless or formerly homeless people. The project was founded in 1991 by A. John Bird and is now called Ltd. ( GmbH ). Income is paid to the Big Issue Foundation, which is a registered charity. The aim of the newspaper project is to enable homeless people to earn a legal income ( help for self-help ). The magazine is financed through advertising and sales. Ever since writer and street musician James Bowen sold the newspaper, his tomcat Bob has been known as "The Big Issue cat".
