That is why they are mocked in the village as the three polar bears . The old maid Veronika, who does the housework for them, also lives on the farm. But this is canceled at the moment. That's why the three brothers run the household, which works rather poorly than right. When a foundling is found in front of the door, the pastor advises them to take the child in and to get a maid to support them on the farm. Then the maid Maralen comes into the yard, who has an eye on Juliander, but who is too shy to notice. With the maid there is also a new wind in the yard. The cattle dealer brings the Hasloch woman into the yard, but none of them like her and she is shown the door. Finally, Maralen can get the Juliander to confess his love to her with the help of alcohol. The brothers also agree that Maralen should become a farmer.
