Gaby Dohm (* 23. September 1943 as Gabriela Helena Anna Dohm in Salzburg ) is a German - Austrian actress .

Life

Dohm is the daughter of the actors Heli Finkenzeller and Will Dohm . She received her school education at the school of the Sacred Heart Sisters in Berlin . Initially, Gaby Dohm wanted to become an illustrator of children's books; but this dream failed because of the strict admission requirements of the Berlin Academy , for which it was still too young. However, the Berlin drama teacher Else Bongers recognized Dohm's talent on stage, trained her and promoted her.

Gaby Dohm had her first appearances at the Düsseldorfer Schauspielhaus , but her breakthrough came at the Munich Residenztheater , to which she belonged from 1966 to the mid-1980s. She occupied almost the entire repertoire of classical and modern stage roles. In collaboration with the director Ingmar Bergman , she received particularly good reviews for the role in Yvonne, Princess of Burgundy and in 1982 the Munich Audience Award for best actress for portrayal in scenes of a marriage .

In addition to the theater , she also repeatedly worked for television. She had her first TV appearance in 1964 as Mathilde in Meine Niece Susanne .

In 1971 she played the leading female role of Lene in the film Ein Fall für Herr Schmidt by Falk Harnack . After that, she had several roles in crime series such as The Commissioner and Derrick .

Gaby Dohm gained notoriety through the ARD television series Die Wiesingers, which was broadcast from 1984, and especially as sister Christa in the ZDF series Schwarzwaldklinik with Klausjürgen Wussow , a crowd puller who gave her undreamt-of popularity. In 1993 Dohm also played the role of the widowed Countess Verena Schönwald in the ZDF series Donauprinzessin .

In the 1990s she played in several crime series such as Der Alte , Derrick , Ein Fall für Zwei and Wolffs Revier . She was also seen six times in the lead role as the Nuremberg police psychologist on Police Call 110 .

In 2011 Dohm stepped in at short notice for the actress Rosel Zech, who died shortly afterwards, in the ARD television series Um Himmels Willen . She took on the role of nun and mother superior Louise von Beilheim, which was initially only intended for a few episodes. At her own request, she left the series in February 2015 to devote herself to further projects.

In total, Dohm has played in over 50 television productions so far, including in Bavarian-Austrian dialect pieces.

Private life

Gaby Dohm has a son with her husband Adalbert Plica. She also has two grandchildren. She lives with the director Peter Deutsch in Munich .
