Else Bongers

Else Bongers (* 1907 ; † 1994 ) was a German acting teacher .

Life

Else Bongers, daughter of a timber merchant, was the younger sister of Hans M. Bongers (1898-1981), who after the Second World War, the Lufthansa newly founded.

In the 1940s and 1950s she was UFA's casting director and headed the UFA young talent studio in Berlin , and later ran a private drama school. Her best-known students included Hildegard Knef , Günter Lamprecht , René Kollo , Götz George , Anita Kupsch , Gaby Dohm , Sabine Sinjen , Ulrich Matthes , Jobst Langhans , Michael Schwarzmaier , Stefan Behrens , Hartmut Becker , Christiane Krüger , Hugo Egon Balder and Markus Majowski .

In the 2009 Hildegard Knef film Hilde , Bongers was played by Monica Bleibtreu .
