Michael Schwarzmaier
Michael Schwarzmaier (born September 11, 1940 in Frankfurt am Main ) is a German actor and voice actor .
Life
Schwarzmaier studied seven semesters of high school German . He began at student theaters and took acting lessons from Else Bongers , singing lessons from Elsa Varena and dance / pantomime lessons from Ruth-Marie Strakosch.
In 1965/66 he made his debut at the Landesbühne in Verden (Aller) . In 1966/67 he played at the Deutsches Theater Göttingen , 1967/68 at the Städtische Bühnen Münster , 1968 to 1971 at the Lower Saxony State Theater Hanover , 1971/72 at the Deutsche Kammerspiele in Buenos Aires , 1972 to 1974 at the Münchner Kammerspiele and 1974 at the Berlin Hansa -Theatre. Then he worked as a freelancer.
He is known for his role as Joachim Herbolz in Lotta in Love , which he played from 2006 to 2007. As a voice actor he lent his voice to Daniel Stern and James Warwick, among others . In the series Law & Order he spoke for the first four seasons of Chris Noth . He also dubbed some animes, including the narrator in Pokémon (from 1999 to 2012) and Soun Tendo in Ranma ½ . Since 1989 he can also be heard repeatedly in the role of the doctor in the British science fiction series Doctor Who , where he has lent William Hartnell , Patrick Troughton , Jon Pertwee , Tom Baker , Peter Davison , Colin Baker and Sylvester McCoy in several episodes of his voice.
Schwarzmaier has spoken over 100 audio books, including by Agatha Christie, Stanislaw Lem, Luc Deflo, Jon Evans, Hademar Bankhofer, Lynn Brittney, Chris Kuzneski, Mathias Voelchert, Andreas Föhr, Alfons Schuhbeck, Marc Ritter, Manni Breuckmann, Yann Sola, Douglas Adams, Lee Child etc.
In addition to German, Schwarzmaier also speaks English, French and Spanish. He lives in Munich.
From 1983 to 2016, Schwarzmaier was with Michaela Schwarzmaier, geb. Steinhoff, married. The marriage had three children; the actress Katharina Schwarzmaier , the event manager Caroline Schwarzmaier and the voice actor Tim Schwarzmaier .
In 2016 he married the alternative practitioner and former actress Sandra Corzilius .
