criticism

TV Spielfilm showeda horizontal thumbfor Die Unankbare , gave one of three possible points for demand and excitement and drew the conclusion that the film was “a bit stiff and emotional”.

In the television magazine Gong No. 44 from 1980, page 25, the film received three out of six possible points. The talk was of an "unbelievable story, but well played". It went on: “It was a little laborious to follow this overconstructed story about the late campaign of revenge by a young orphan on the alleged 'murderer' of her parents. Village goings-on was shown here for minutes without this being important for the plot. On the other hand, their deeper meaning succeeded: the relativization of the term 'guilt'. It was teeming with 'innocent guilty people'. Walter Kohut as a career-addicted mayor (contrary to style: in Austrian dialect) and Dietlinde Turban in the leading role are particularly impressive. "

In Hörzu No. 44 from 1980, page 75, the following was praised: “Drama in the Bavarian village. Right at the beginning it is clear who was to blame for the death of Sonja Schmitt's parents. So not a thriller. But the rigid avenging angel (Dietlinde Turban), who returned to the Bavarian village after ten years to expose his 'benefactor', sets off a guilt-and-atonement drama based on an almost classic pattern. And that creates emotional tensions, first slowly put into the picture by director Wild, then faster and faster, which fully compensate the viewer. Especially thanks to the excellent script (Käthe Braun) a new, sophisticated kind of Saturday evening entertainment. "
