Geoffrey "Geoff" Pierson (born June 16, 1949 in Chicago , Illinois ) is an American actor .

Career

After attending Fordham University in New York, he began an acting training at the Yale School of Drama in New Haven . He began his acting career in 1976, before the end of his training, at the Shady Land Summer Theater in Marengo, Illinois.

In 1984 he took on a supporting role in the television series Ryan's Hope as the charismatic politician Frank Ryan and then appeared mainly in guest appearances in various television series.

Pierson achieved greater fame through, among other things, his role as Jack Malloy in the television series Auf Worse and Forever and his impersonation of US President John Keeler in the television series 24 . From 2006 to 2013, he played the role of Police Chief Tom Matthews in the television series Dexter .
