Luck by my side (Original title: You're Not You ) is an American drama film directed by George C. Wolfe . Hilary Swank plays an ALS patient who develops a friendly relationship with her carer. The film premiered on September 27, 2014 at the San Diego Film Festival . The cinema release in Germany was on April 16, 2015.

Kate, a successful pianist, is diagnosed with ALS and can no longer do her job. Since her husband Evan is heavily involved in his job, she needs a carer. Although there are many highly qualified applicants to choose from, Kate, to Evans's chagrin, chooses the inexperienced, chaotic Bec. When Evan leaves the house after an affair, an ever closer contact begins for the two. The film service described the film as a "tear-inducing drama that relies too much on the establishment of dazzling contrasts in terms of character and milieu drawings" and thereby neglects credibility.
