Julian Dana William McMahon (born July 27, 1968 in Sydney , New South Wales ) is an Australian actor .

Life

Julian McMahon is the second child of Sir William McMahon , former Prime Minister of Australia, and his wife Sonia McMahon. He was briefly married to Dannii Minogue , the sister of Kylie Minogue , and Brooke Burns , with whom he has a daughter, Madison Elizabeth McMahon. He first studied law in Sydney before embarking on a successful modeling career.

McMahon made his first TV appearance in a jeans commercial. He then starred in several leading roles in various films and moved to Los Angeles in 1994 . He became known in the USA for his roles in the series Profiler and Charmed - magical witches, among other things . He also starred in the television series Nip / Tuck - Beauty Has Its Prize as Dr. Christian Troy - a cosmetic surgeon - one of the main roles. The series was awarded in 2005 the Golden Globe Award as Best Series - Drama . McMahon received a nomination for Best Actor in a Series - Drama .

In 2005, McMahon was also listed as a candidate to succeed Pierce Brosnan as James Bond . Eventually, however, Daniel Craig got the role of James Bond , as McMahon decided in favor of Nip / Tuck . In 2012 he played Doyle in the Australian animal horror film Bait 3D .
