Hendrik Schneider

Hendrik Schneider (born July 2, 1966 in Wiesbaden ) is a German legal scholar and professor of criminal law at the University of Leipzig .

Life

After graduating from Wiesbaden in 1986, Hendrik Schneider studied law at the Johannes Gutenberg University in Mainz from 1987 to 1992 . In July 1992 he passed the first state examination in law in Hesse . From September 1992 to September 1995 he was a research assistant with Michael Bock at the chair for criminology , juvenile criminal law , penal system and criminal law at the University of Mainz. In 1995 he started with the work “Basics of crime prognosis. A reconstruction of the problems of reliability and validity with recourse to Alfred Schutz " doctorate . From 1995 to 1996 he received a scholarship from the Lang Hinrichsen Foundation and was a trainee lawyer at the Mainz Regional Court . He passed the second state examination in law on November 15, 1996 in Rhineland-Palatinate .

From January 5, 1998 he was a research assistant to Michael Bock at the University of Mainz. With the text “Can the practice of recognizing standards guide the doctrine of criminal law? A Critique of Functionalism in Criminal Law ” , he completed his habilitation on July 15, 2003 in criminal law, criminal procedure law , criminology, juvenile criminal law and penal law and was appointed university lecturer at the University of Mainz in the same month . From the summer semester 2004 to the winter semester 2005/2006 he represented Manfred Seebode at the chair for criminal law, criminal procedure law, criminology, juvenile criminal law and penal law at the University of Leipzig, which he took over on March 1, 2006 by being appointed full professor .

In 2012 Schneider was awarded a fellowship for innovations in university teaching by the Stifterverband für die Deutsche Wissenschaft and the Joachim Herz Foundation .
