Rodney is an American sitcom that aired in the United States on ABC from 2004 to 2006 . In Germany, the series is broadcast by RTL II .
The plot is roughly based on the life of the main actor Rodney Carrington , a comedian and country singer known in the USA. Rodney (last name on the show is Hamilton) lives with his wife Trina ( Jennifer Aspen ) and sons Jack and Bo (Robert) in Tulsa , Oklahoma , trying to build a life as a stand-up comedian. Other characters are his best friend Barry Martin ( Nick Searcy ) and Trina's sister Charlie ( Amy Pietz ), who has an affair with Gerald Bob ( Jon Reep ), the slightly stupid local policeman.
