Party of Five is an American youth series . The station Fox broadcast a total of 142 episodes of the series from September 1994 to May 2000. The German-language first broadcast took place on March 2, 1996 on RTL and ORF eins .

action

The series is about the five Salinger siblings, who are left on their own after the death of their parents in a car accident. Under these circumstances, they are forced to take responsibility for one another and adapt their lives to reality. In the process, very different life plans develop.

concept

The concept for the episode came from screenwriters Christopher Keyser and Amy Lippman. Columbia Pictures Television with its producer team around Chris Keyser, Amy Lippman, Mark B. Perry, Mitchell Burgess, Robin Green and Ken Topolsky produced the pilot episode as well as many other episodes of the series in San Francisco ( California ), where the pilot episode was also produced was filmed. Directed by Richard Pierce.

Charlie Salinger
At 24, Charlie is the oldest of the five. He has a pretty open love life, but suddenly he has to deal with the responsibility of being the new head of the family. In the course of the series he is diagnosed with cancer.
Bailey Salinger
Bailey is a 16 year old rebellious teenager. He later takes over the management of the restaurant, but has to contend with alcohol abuse.
Julia Salinger
Julia is a sensitive 15 year old who has many questions about her life. She is later abused by her boyfriend Ned.
Claudia Salinger
Claudia is 11 years old and a precocious child prodigy.
Owen Salinger
At barely a year old, Owen is the youngest of the siblings.

The synchronization of the series was created at Plaza Synchron based on dialogue books by Axel Malzacher , Carina Krause and Werner Böhnke under the dialogue direction by Kornelia Boje .

Offshoot

In 1999 an offshoot of the series appeared under the original title Time of Your Life , in which Sarah Reeves moves from San Francisco to New York to look for her father and to grow up. The series had 19 episodes. In addition to Jennifer Love Hewitt, Jennifer Garner starred as Romy Sullivan. In Germany the series ran under the name New York Life - Endlich im Leben! on ProSieben .

Charisma

The pilot episode Fifth in Life premiered on September 12, 1994 on Fox . The subsequent first season ended on March 15, 1995. The second season began airing on September 27, 1995 and ended on March 27, 1996. Fox began airing the third season on August 21, 1996 and ended on April 2, 1997 The fourth season aired from September 27, 1997 to May 13, 1998. The 25 episodes of the fifth season ran from September 16, 1998 to May 19, 1999. The sixth and final season Fox broadcast from October 5, 1999 and ended with a two-hour series finale on May 3, 2000.

Further information

While Neve Campbell , Jennifer Love Hewitt and Lacey Chabert made the leap to the cinema, Matthew Fox ( Lost ), Scott Wolf ( Everwood ) and Scott Grimes ( Band of Brothers , Emergency Room ) achieved their greatest successes in other television series.
