Scott Grimes (born July 9, 1971 in Lowell , Massachusetts ) is an American actor and singer .

Life and acting

Grimes spent most of his youth in the town of Dracut . His sister Heather and niece Camryn are also both actresses today. Grimes himself gained his first acting experience at a young age. In 1984, at the age of 13, he played alongside Mickey Rooney in a television movie. In 1986, he starred as Brad Brown in the horror comedy Critters - You're There! increase his profile as a young actor. He also appeared again as Brad Brown in the sequel Critters 2 - They Return (1988) ; there for the first time in a leading role. In the horror film Nightlife , Grimes was able to play the leading role again a year later.

After that, Grimes' career as a film actor largely fell asleep for a long time, and many appearances in various television series followed instead. He was particularly well known for the role of Will McCorkle from Party of Five (1994-2000) and the role of the doctor Dr. Archie Morris from Emergency Room (2003-2009). Grimes was also very well known for his participation in the cartoon series American Dad , in which he lends his voice to the main character Steve Smith to this day. In 2010, after a good twenty years, Grimes again had a major film role in Ridley Scott's Robin Hood , in which he played Will Scarlet .

Grimes was married to Dawn Bailey-Grimes from 1997 to 2007, with whom he has two children. From 2011 to 2017 he was married to Megan Moore for the second time, and since 2019 to the third marriage to Adrianne Palicki , whom he met while filming the science fiction television series The Orville .

In addition to his acting career, Scott Grimes is also active as a singer. In 2005 he brought out his album Livin 'on the run , which was only released in the United States. The music is strongly reminiscent of well-known bands and artists such as Matchbox Twenty or Bryan Adams . According to his own statements, Bruce Springsteen had another musical influence on him . As part of his acting career, Grimes has already had the opportunity to show his singing skills: In the eleventh episode of the second season of The Orville ("The Time Capsule") produced in 2019, he sings in a simulated club scene in the holodeck in a duet with a singing partner.
