action

Wolfgang Wöller, Lord Mayor of the Lower Bavarian city of Kaltenthal and part-time car dealer, has sold a large part of his old used cars to Nigeria and has made financial advance payments for this purpose. It quickly turns out that he fell for fraudsters. Since Wöller has used the community treasury for financing, a political scandal threatens. To prevent this, he quickly travels to Nigeria with Sister Hanna, the head of the local monastery . The nun would like to meet the doctor Dr. Find Mabenga, who has traveled to Nigeria with their daughter after an argument with his wife. In Nigeria, Sister Hanna and Wöller visit Sister Lotte, Hanna's predecessor as director of the Kaltenthal Monastery, who runs a mission station there and who received 50,000 euros from Germany to build a school. Wöller quickly succeeds in gaining the respect of the tribal leader there, who is similarly sly like him and who cheated Sister Lotte out of the donations for the school. So Lotte got the idea that Wöller should get her money back and that she wanted to work for Wöller and the return of used cars in the Ministry of the Interior. Meanwhile, Sister Lotte is looking for Dr. Mabenga and tries to soothe his anger towards his wife, ultimately punishing his child, who would need his mother and who could do nothing for their quarrel.

In Kaltenthal the meanwhile crashes Superior Baroness Louise von Beilheim when decorating a Christmas tree and breaks her ankle on. As a result, she has to cancel the Christmas reception she has planned and therefore wants to spend Christmas Eve in Kaltenthal Monastery. When Hanna was informed of this, she was shocked and had to do everything to get back to Kaltenthal in time, because the baroness didn't know anything about her trip to Africa.

With Woeller's diplomatic skills, he actually succeeds in getting Lotte's money back. However, he initially wants to get away with it on his own, but this fails due to the resolute intervention of Sister Lotte, who takes the money from him again. Due to Sister Hanna's "arranged" early departure, however, Wöller's problem has not been resolved, and so he is very reluctant to return to Munich. To Hanna's delight, however, Dr. Mabenga on board, whose little daughter was able to change his mind in the end, to come back to Germany with him, where he is reconciled with his wife. Sister Hanna arrives in Kaltenthal just in time, so that the Mother Superior does not find out about her unauthorized trip, and Mayor Wöller is informed by his secretary, Ms. Laban, that she had not transferred the money to the municipal treasury because it was not properly used and she did that could not have been responsible. Wöller takes a load off his heart and when he learns that Sister Lotte has managed to sell the used cars in Nigeria elsewhere, he faints with joy.
