Tyron Peter Ricketts (born June 29, 1973 in Weiz ) is an Austrian actor and musician .

Life

The Berliner by choice, the son of an Austrian and a Jamaican, began his acting career with leading roles in Colorful Dogs (1995) and Rosenkavalier (1996). This was followed by a leading role in Kanak Attack (2000), further roles in Rillenfieber (2000), Knockin 'on Heaven's Door , Samba in Mettmann (2004) as well as supporting roles in television films and the leading role in the Sat.1 production Bridal Couple on Trial . From September 2006 to October 2009 he was also a detective commissioner Patrick Diego Grimm on the investigative team of the ZDF series SOKO Leipzig .

In addition, from 1996 to 2000 he presented the hip-hop and rap magazine Word Cup on the music broadcaster VIVA , before this format was replaced by the Mixery Raw Deluxe program . In 2003 he was the presenter of an ARTE special for the program Tracks .

During his time at VIVA, Tyron Ricketts was also involved in various music projects, including the band Mellowbag .

The artist also participates in projects that aim to reduce racial discrimination and improve understanding between people of different skin colors and / or origins, including the Brothers Keepers initiative and the Afro-German project , to which Tyron Ricketts also contributed a song of the same name . In 2010 he worked with singer Julie and Montana Beats on the project "Respekt 2010".

In late 2012, Ricketts emigrated to America because of better scripting offers and lived in Los Angeles for two years, where Harry Belafonte helped him to gain a foothold in the United States. He has lived in Berlin since 2017.
