Deadly Secrets is a crime film series by Gabriela Sperl Production in cooperation with ORF on behalf of ARD Degeto for Das Erste . The television series is set in Berlin , Brussels and Cape Town . The focus of the series is the journalist duo Karin Berger and Rommy Kirchhoff . The role of Karin Berger is played by the German actress Anke Engelke . The German actress Nina Kunzendorf plays the character of the journalist Rommy Kirchhoff . Both journalists fall in love over the course of the series and move into a shared apartment in Berlin.
