Nikolai Wassiljewitsch Trussow ( Russian: Николай Васильевич Трусов ; born July 2, 1985 in Leningrad , Russian SFSR ) is a Russian cyclist .

Career

In the junior area, Trussow was particularly successful in track cycling . His greatest successes during this time were winning titles at the 2003 Junior World Railroad Championships in the team pursuit and in Madison .

In the adult sector, his focus has shifted to the street . Trussow achieved his first international victory in 2005 at the Clásica Memorial Txuma . In 2007 and 2008 he drove for the Professional Continental Team Tinkoff Credit System and contested his first Grand Tour with the Giro d'Italia 2007 , which he finished in 132nd. In the seasons 2009 to 2011 Trussow drove with the UCI ProTeam Katusha . For this team he achieved his only success in a ProTour race with a stage win at the Tour of Catalonia in 2009 . After that he was unable to continue his ProTour success.
