Whiteface is a German Edgar Wallace television film from 1998. On May 4, 2002, the television premiere was on Super RTL . The film is part of a short Edgar Wallace series from the 1990s. The first season was filmed in 1995 and the second in 1998. It is the eighth and final film in the Edgar Wallace series.

The case begins with an award ceremony for the best book author in the crime genre. The invited guests have dressed up to match the motto of the event. John Malony wins the award with his book Killer Clown . When the author receives the award, he is murdered with a throwing knife by a person disguised as a clown.
Undetected, the masked killer flees through the startled crowd and is able to escape. A reporter present follows the masked person on foot and can see him get into a car and drive away. With the help of this seedy reporter, Scotland Yard is following his heels.
