history

Brothers Keepers was founded in 2000 by Adé Bantu, together with Torch and D-Flame, in response to an increase in right-wing extremism in Germany since the late 1990s. With the association, the founders wanted to draw attention to the still dangerous and tense situation of migrants in Germany. The proceeds from the concerts were used to help the victims of right-wing extremist violence and their families. The money was also used to support initiatives against right-wing extremism in Germany . In 2001 her best-known single Adriano (Last Warning) was released . The background of the song is the death of Alberto Adriano , who was beaten up by neo-Nazis in Dessau in 2000 and died three days after his injuries.

In 2002 the association undertook its first concert tour through East German schools in Berlin , Rostock-Lichtenhagen , Ludwigslust , Pirna and Prenzlau . According to their own statements, the musicians were shocked by the indifference with which young people opposed right-wing extremism and the large number of followers.

The association against right-wing extremism was also active independently of concerts. For example, in 2005, together with the Amadeu Antonio Foundation, he organized a demonstration against neo-Nazis through Berlin's Scheunenviertel , which was supported by many other artists. The Scheunenviertel was the Jewish quarter of Berlin until the 1930s.

In 2007 the band was looking for new ways to get their message across. So the documentary Yes, I Am! , in which Sven Halfar portrays Ade, D-FLAME and Mamadee.
