Joachim Germany
Joachim Germany (born July 31, 1980 in Schorndorf - Weiler ; actually Christof Johannes Joachim Faber ) is a rock singer and musician living in Germany with US citizenship .
biography
Germany comes from a musical family. His grandfather was a composer, his Afro-American mother a jazz singer in Denver, his father Johannes Faber was part of the Consortium group and also played as a trumpeter for Udo Lindenberg .
Germany lived in Hamburg until he was 16 and lived in Henstedt-Ulzburg for a few years . After graduating from high school, he moved to California to begin a professional basketball career. Since this was not crowned with success, he enlisted four years later in the US Army . His service with the 82nd Airborne Division in Fort Bragg , North Carolina , he broke off after a year and left the USA illegally. Because of his desertion , he was taken into military custody for five weeks when he returned to the United States in February 2004.
From 2003 Joachim Germany published two albums on Sony Music and another on his own website as a free download under a Creative Commons license.
In 2003 he was excluded from participating in the German preliminary decision for the Eurovision Song Contest by the organizing NDR after he bared his backside in front of TV cameras during the song presentation and published a song called Die Stoibers with lewd remarks about Edmund Stoiber and his family.
From 2005 he was a member of the jury in the VIVA karaoke show Shibuya .
In the middle of 2008 Joachim Germany cooperated with the German rapper Kaisa .
In 2009 Joachim Germany was admitted to the psychiatric department of the Berlin Urban Hospital after a bomb threat he had issued by the police .
In November 2011 Joachim Germany took part in the fifth season of the casting show Das Supertalent . In 2014 Joachim Germany presented the song " Eier as big as Germany" for the soccer world championship .
Germany lives in the Berlin district of Friedrichshain , where he is active as a street musician in the nightlife. He is married and has four kids.
