Publication and promotion

The first publication of Adriano (Last Warning) took place on 2 July 2001 in Germany, Austria and Switzerland . The piece is available on four different maxi singles, all of which differ in the number and selection of their B-sides . The B-sides mostly consist of remixes and the Adriano music video (final warning) . In order to be able to place the single on radio and television more often , it was divided into two sections because of its above-average length, so that there were two versions, each with a length of about 3:30 and 4:30 minutes.

Due to the numerous cast, it was very difficult to gather all participating musicians on one stage, which is why the Brothers Keepers rarely appeared as a collective. For the most part they were complete, among other things at the live performances during the awards ceremony for the VIVA Comet 2001 and the music festival Beats 4 Life 2001 and the Splash 2001.

Distancing Xavier Naidoos

Naidoo distanced himself from parts of the song in a video interview with right-wing populist magazine Compact in June 2020 and questioned his involvement. From today's point of view, he feels “ raped ” by the situation at the time and says that other means could have been chosen. Naidoo emphasizes in the interview that he is meanwhile also cautious with the "claim" at the time that the attack came from right-wing circles , mentions informers and claims that, according to Europol, there is no right-wing violence in Germany . In the months before, Naidoo stood out for its closeness to right-wing extremist rapper Chris Ares and the spread of QAnon and Flat Earth myths.

Cover version of Samy Deluxe

In 2018, Samy Deluxe re-recorded the piece as part of an MTV unplugged . In terms of content, the piece has been adapted to current events and contains allusions to Barack Obama , the NSU trial , the re-strengthening of right-wing politics and the recurring lighting of refugee shelters . The recording took place on two evenings on April 14th and 15th, 2018 on the museum ship MS Bleichen in the port of Hamburg . The new edition was produced by Deluxe himself.
