D-Flame (* 19th September 1971 ; bourgeois Daniel Kretschmer ) is a German rapper and reggae - musician from Frankfurt .

biography

D-Flame began his career in the late 1980s in the Frankfurt hiphop scene and formed the Asiatic Warriors together with Azazin (who later made a career as Azad ), as well as A-Bomb and Combad (who also produced his solo albums) . The group released an album back in 1994, but separated a little later. In addition, he was also a member of the group Foreign Accent , with which he had a guest appearance in the video on Foreign in his own country by Advanced Chemistry . D-Flame then worked with the dancehall sound systems SoundquakeSound and Pow Pow Movement , before performing as a solo artist from 2000.

He has released five albums so far. Basstard started in 2000, which can be described as a mixture between hip-hop and dancehall . His second album Daniel X - a black German story from 2002 went more in the direction of hip-hop, was described by D-Flame himself as a "biography in album form" and can therefore be understood as an autobiographical work. The next album contained only reggae and dancehall music, it was released in 2003 and is entitled Unstoppable . The last track on it is a reggae cover of the extra- wide classic Polizisten . In 2006 he published FFM , which again went more in the direction of reggae than hip-hop.

D-Flame has worked with many well-known and successful artists such as Seeed , Samy Deluxe , Jan Delay , Bonez MC , Denyo 77 , Xavier Naidoo , Afrob , Tone , RAF Camora and J-Luv , and D-Flame is one of the members of Brothers Keepers . In addition, D-Flame was a member of the former Hamburg hip-hop label Eimsbush -Entertainment.

Until autumn 2010 he hosted a program on rap, dancehall and reggae every Tuesday on the Frankfurt youth broadcaster You FM .

On January 24, 2007, D-Flame was a guest on TV total . There he answered the questions of Stefan Raab and presented the song Mom Song , with which he represented his state of Hesse in the Bundesvision Song Contest (also initiated by Raab) on February 9, 2007 .

During his career he has repeatedly supported other hip-hop artists with live performances and tours, including the Hamburg hip-hop group Dynamite Deluxe on their “ TNT ” tour in early 2008 .

His last album to date, Stress , was released on November 14, 2008.

In 2016, D-Flame was featured with a guest contribution on the collabo album Palmen aus Plastik by Bonez MC and RAF Camora , which was awarded a platinum record in Germany and Austria .

Private

D-Flame is a father of five, he has four sons and a daughter. He is the father of rapper Reezy.

Documentary film

At the beginning of February 2007 the documentary "Yes I Am" was released in some German cinemas, in which D-Flame is portrayed alongside Mamadee and Adé Bantu . The film shows the path taken by the Afro-German artists born in Germany and the circumstances with which they are and were confronted due to the color of their skin.
