J-Luv (born April 13, 1979 in Friedberg ; real name Julian Williams ) is a German-speaking soul singer with roots in the United States .

biography

J-Luv was discovered by Moses Pelham from the Frankfurt record label 3p and promoted as a new talent in the scene. Among other things, he was the background singer of Xavier Naidoo , Sabrina Setlur and Azad . In 2002 his solo album Kontraste was released . He also appeared in the opening act for Herbert Grönemeyer .

J-Luv left 3p in 2003 and found shelter at the Amadea Records label of the former 3p manager Thomas Hofmann. There he released the (producer) album Threeshot - Hip Hop Kingz - Love Peace Harmony in 2005 , on which he played with many important German hip-hop acts such as Azad , Dendemann , Kool Savas , Samy Deluxe , Afrob , Cora E. , Bo , Curse and beginners worked. J-Luv also worked on their releases with almost all of the artists who made guest appearances on this album.

After promoting the album, J-Luv moved to New York to do an apprenticeship as a hairdresser and make-up artist. He was still in demand as a guest singer and published various contributions on albums and singles by other artists (see below), among others. a. with Peter Fox as a backing singer, with whom he also went on tour. In 2010 he came back with his own productions, did not shoot music videos for wines in New York and we both did . In spring 2011 he released the EP Petals on iTunes, which includes six more songs in addition to these songs. Around the same time, a mixtape called The Legendary Story of J-Luv was released as a free download.

An album called Titan has remained unreleased since 2002.
