Fuck still your story is a mixtape by the German rapper Eko Fresh , which was released on December 16, 2005 via ersguterjunge . This is a modified form of the original mixtape Fick Your Story , which was never published for reasons of label policy. Even if the mixtape was a flop from a commercial point of view and couldn't be charted, it was received positively by critics and fans. Among other things, Eko is praised for his lyrical performance, and the feature guests are also rated positively.
background
2005 was not an easy time for Eko Fresh. He had fallen out with his mentor Kool Savas and left his label Optik Records . In addition, after a fight that occurred at the end of 2005, he was admitted to an intensive care unit, where he had to undergo emergency surgery because of a ruptured lung. About two weeks later, he had to seek medical treatment again because he had baked hashish muffins at home , which he complained of shortness of breath and high blood pressure after consuming them.
The Mixtape The John Bello Story of Kool Savas, on the Eko repeatedly dissed is Eko finally gave the occasion, with its own mixtape to "fight back". Bushido took Eko after the departure of Optik Records in ersguterjunge under contract here Eko began with the recording of his mixtape, which he, in reference to Kool Savas' John Bello Story , fuck your story called. The original fully recorded version was rejected by Sony BMG, which ersguterjunge is a sub-label. According to Eko, this was because BMG found the album “too hard” and the label would be “on the side of Kool Savas” anyway. As a result, some songs were removed, but new songs were also recorded, finally the mixtape was released on December 16, 2005, which this time still bore the name Fick Your Story . A special feature is that Eko is not called Eko Fresh as usual, but Elektro Eko.
The original Fick Your Story version was leaked and is now available as a (albeit illegal) download from the Internet, and it was made available to the public's official Youtube account on Eko Fresh at the end of December 2015 .

Stylistically, the album can be assigned to gangster rap, which was at its peak in German hip-hop at the time. Consequently, it is about the difficult life in the socially disadvantaged areas of Cologne , especially the districts of Humboldt / Gremberg and Kalk are mentioned more often. Drug consumption and sales, misogyny , gang rivalries and violence are other typical topics for the genre. The Stenz Gang, to which Eko Fresh and Hakan Abi belong, even have a song dedicated to them. There are several verbal swipes at Kool Savas on the mixtape, various other rappers are also dissed.
The only thematically exception is the song Unglücklich , which is a declaration of love to the German-Turkish presenter Gülcan Kamps . Here Eko expresses the desire to be with her and want to marry her, and he also wants to dissuade Gülcan from marrying Sebastian Kamps. However, Unhappy found no hearing from Gülcan, she married Sebastian Kamps anyway. The beat for this song is a sample of the 1981 R&B song Just the Two of Us by Grover Washington Jr. & Bill Withers .
Feature guests
Several well-known rappers are still represented on Fick your story , in addition to Eko's companion Summer Cem , Farid Bang , who was still at the beginning of his career, can be heard. It should be noted that Farid Bang is still called Farid Urlaub in reference to his musician colleague Farin Urlaub . Other guests are Kay One , SD , Hakan Abi, Emely, Bero Bass , Capkekz and the producer and rapper Kingsize, all of whom were under contract with Eko Fresh's label German Dream at the time. The song Flerräter is an answer to a diss by Fler and actually a song by Bushido, Eko Fresh only acts as a guest rapper, but it was decided to put the song on the mixtape.
On the song Wedding to Grembranx , the Friedberg- born singer J-Luv and the Berlin rapper of Ghanaian descent Kalusha are represented, while Baba Saad's close friend JokA can be heard in a short but memorable part at 20 bars .
Features from the United States are not missing here either, for example Hell Rell and JR Writer rap on Fuck your Story , who at that time were still with the Harlem group The Diplomats . Another guest from the United States rapper cat. On the song Bad Boy also has Tupac a guest part, however, the mixtapes is the time of publication no longer alive, so it is in this song not a new recording, but a remix .
On several tracks there are also telephone announcements at the beginning from various rapper colleagues or people from Eko's environment, who assure Eko of their support and stand behind him. These include, for example, Bushido on the song Antigaranti 4 Life , the Berlin rapper and porn producer King Orgasmus One on the song Jetzt There's Streit , Tupac's friend and companion Young Noble on Bad Boy , the German-Turkish rapper Azra , who collaborates with Eko Fresh -Album Dünya Dönüyor - The world is turning has recorded on Wedding to Grembranx , Baba Saad on 20 bars and Billy 13 , who was under contract with ersguterjunge at the time, on Standard .

The mixtape received mostly positive reviews from the critics. Benny Blanco from Bumbanet Magazine gave the CD eight out of ten points and described it as one of the best, if not the best mixtape of 2005. He praised Eko's talent and was pleasantly surprised that he was able to compete in a competitive battle - Write rap texts. He also found words of praise for the feature guests SD and JokA.
Editor Torben from Allschools also awarded eight out of ten possible points and highlighted what he believed to be exclusive and high-quality tracks. Fuck still your story would meet all the requirements and Eko convinces with his rap performances and his flow. The prodigal son is one of the best songs on the mixtape.
Matthias Reichel from CDStarts wrote that Eko's talent was "a stunner", he showed his talent at least to some extent. He reaches deep into the box of the gangster rap genre and often has good moments, the editor also rates the beats positively. All in all, he gave it six out of ten points.
