Gülcan Kamps
Gülcan Kamps (born September 20, 1982 in Lübeck ; born Karahancı [ karaˈhandʒɯ ]) is a German television presenter and actress of Turkish descent .
Life
After completing school in Lübeck and graduating from the Dorothea Schlözer School in 2002, Kamps wanted to start studying business administration . Since she was not admitted to study in Hamburg or Berlin , she took part in a casting show on the Cologne music channel VIVA on September 28, 2002 . There she was able to prevail against around 500 applicants. She then moved to Cologne and later to Düsseldorf-Niederkassel . She now lives in Meerbusch .
On August 7, 2007 she married Sebastian Kamps, son of Heiner Kamps , the founder of the Filial- und Großbäckerei Kamps GmbH . The wedding preparations were broadcast on ProSieben from June 19, 2007 as part of a highly controversial television series based on the model of the Sarah & Marc in Love series . The eight-part documentary soap Gülcan's dream wedding ended with the live broadcast of the civil wedding from the Columbia Hotel in Travemünde . In March 2011, called Kamps, the media coverage of their wedding as a crazy idea and declared a corresponding production as "very intensive, very time consuming, very nerve-consuming." Kamps emphasized that she did not regret the decision, but the documentation was a project that she "would not do again."
In 2019 she stated that she had been working as a real estate agent in Mallorca for several years .
moderator
From January 2003 to mid-2010 she was a moderator at VIVA . There she presented the interactive programs VIVA Live! , Interactive and 17 . She also moderated VIVA News , Shibuya , at times the VIVA Top 100 as well as NEW and VIVA Special .
On the occasion of the Eurovision Song Contest 2004 , Kamps reported for ProSieben ( TV total ) and VIVA ( interactive ) for a week from Istanbul in May . Since April 2004 she has also been involved in charitable causes; She supported the work of UNICEF at the 1st Vienna Tulip Ball , where the cultural diversity of Austria and Turkey was brought closer to an international audience .
From August 20, 2006, she hosted the now-canceled program Bravo TV on ProSieben as the successor to Ben .
Kamps has also appeared twice in the men's magazine Maxim . In March 2011, VIVA announced that it would be parting with Kamps after seven years because it did not fit into the station's new moderator concept. In 2011 she reported from the red carpet for The Dome on RTL II .
At the end of 2015, Kamps moderated some programs on the teleshopping channel Channel 21 as part of a daytime event . Many media outlets incorrectly claim that they are moderating for the broadcaster all the time.
actress
Kamps made her acting debut in June 2005 in Andersrum from Mark Keller and Heiner Lauterbach as “victim”. The film with Kamps in a minor supporting role, however, flopped.
In 2006 she took over in the RTL - sitcom Everybody Loves Jimmy the role of Leyla Arkadas. In 2006, she also played in the RTL comedy rate show 5 against 100 , and also in rate shows such as What thinks Germany? ( Sat.1 ) or Extreme Activity (ProSieben).
The docu-soap Gülcan started on June 24, 2008 and Collien are moving to the countryside on ProSieben. There, together with Collien Ulmen-Fernandes , she was exposed to everyday situations on a Chiemgau farm outside of the party and jet set life. The concept of this show is based on the US production The Simple Life with Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie .
In 2009 she played a supporting role in the television series Der kleine Mann (episode Benefiz ), where she appears as herself.
Kamps appeared in early 2010 in the documentary soap Die Promi-Pauker , which was broadcast on ZDFneo . In the show she had to teach an eighth grade as a "teacher".
In the movie Groupies Don't Stay for Breakfast , which will run from September 2010 , Kamps plays herself in a supporting role as VIVA presenter.
In 2013 Gülcan Kamps took part in the sixth season of Let's Dance , but she was eliminated in the first show. Her dance partner was Nikita Bazev .

In August 2003 Kamps attracted attention musically: Together with the Turkish singer Mustafa Sandal , she sang the title Aya Benzer 2003 (Moonlight) and thus made it into the top 10 of the German single charts . She sang her part in different versions in German and English.
