Gülcan's dream wedding is a German documentary soap from the station ProSieben from 2007. It was broadcast weekly from June 19 to August 7, 2007 and showed the wedding preparations of the TV presenter Gülcan Kamps (Karahancı at the beginning of the show until the wedding) and of the entrepreneur's son Sebastian Kamps. The eight-part series was concluded with a live broadcast of the couple's wedding in the Columbia Hotel Casino Travemünde. Sebastian's father, the entrepreneur Heiner Kamps , did not attend the wedding at his own request.

marketing

According to the Bild newspaper , the broadcaster had paid “well over one million” euros for the marketing rights for Karahancı's wedding. However, this was denied by Karahancı. The spokesman for the production company confirmed that he had been looking for extras for the television production. Bild-T-Online claimed in an "embarrassing list of the nightmare wedding" that more than a third of the approximately 120 wedding guests were extras.

Locations

The shooting locations for the soap were mainly in Düsseldorf , the couple's place of residence, but also in Lübeck - Travemünde , the place of residence of Karahancı's parents, who once immigrated to Germany from Turkey . The husband's father is Heiner Kamps , founder of Kamps AG . The subject of the series was getting to know the families of both bride and groom under the motto "Düsseldorf jet set meets Turkish extended family from Travemünde".

Others

While the similar format Sarah & Marc in Love with Sarah Connor and Marc Terenzi broadcast the wedding with a delay in 2004, the civil ceremony was broadcast live by Gülcan and Sebastian and moderated by Steven Gätjen and Natascha Berg .

Gülcan also wrote about her “crazy wedding” in the youth magazine Bravo , which was also the cover story of issue 26/2007.

The last episode of the series achieved a market share of 18.6 percent among the advertising-relevant target group of 14 to 49-year-old television viewers.
