The European Federation of Pharmaceutical Industries and Associations (EFPIA) is a European umbrella organization of national associations of research-based pharmaceutical companies and individual pharmaceutical companies.

Members

There are 33 corporate members , which are divided into full members and affiliate members , as well as member associations , which are divided into full members and affiliate members , as well as partners in Research . National associations include the Association of Research-Based Pharmaceutical Manufacturers for Germany, the Austrian Chemical Industry Association for Austria and scienceindustries and Interpharma for Switzerland .

structure

President is Stefan Oschmann (Merck), Vice-Presidents are Jean-Christophe Tellier (UCB) and Olivier Brandicourt (Sanofi).

purpose

The main purpose is to improve the competitiveness of research-based pharmaceutical companies in Europe in the regulatory and political environment. Among other things, EFPIA is also a founding member of the International Council for Harmonization of Technical Requirements for Pharmaceuticals for Human Use . In this body, drug approval between the European Union, the USA and Japan was harmonized in cooperation with drug authorities and pharmaceutical associations .
