Mustafa sandal
Mustafa Sandal (born January 11, 1970 in Istanbul ) is a Turkish pop musician . He is a singer , composer , songwriter , producer and actor .
In his career he made his international breakthrough with hits like Araba , Aya Benzer and İsyankar . In Turkey he is one of the big pop stars with over 15 million records sold .
His style of music is a synthesis between western and oriental pop and is mostly based on melancholy sounds.
biography
After graduating from college in Geneva , Sandal spent two years studying marketing at New Hampshire College, Boston . When he returned to Istanbul in 1989, he worked as a musician and worked in the Gelişim Studios as a songwriter and producer for famous musicians such as Ajda Pekkan , Zerrin Özer , Ayşegül Aldinç , Yonca Evcimik and Sezen Aksu .
Career
Sandal released his first album in 1994. His debut album Suç Bende was a great success with 1.5 million music cassettes sold and 200,000 CDs sold. After less than a year, Sandal established himself as an exceptional live artist with 140 concerts in Turkey and 30 in Europe.
In 1996, Sandal had just released his second, successful album Gölgede Aynı , and moved from Istanbul to London. After selling over 3.1 million units of the album and over 200 concerts, he left an enthusiastic fan base in Turkey. In 1998 he returned to his homeland, Turkey, with his next album Detay . The album hit number 1 on the Turkish charts in the second week of its release in autumn 1998. The album won two Kral Awards . The subsequent tour was almost always sold out with over 130 shows and Mustafa Sandal also made guest appearances in the USA, Germany, Austria, Denmark, Holland, England, Sweden, Turkmenistan and Azerbaijan.
In June 2000, Mustafa Sandal released his album Akışına Bırak , a collaboration with the composer and musician İskender Paydaş. Sandal also established his own label Yada Productions in order to be able to produce other artists independently. In June 2002 Mustafa Sandal released his fifth album Kop , which was also a success.
Mustafa Sandal was with his single Aya Benzer 2003 , which he shared with the VIVA - presenter Gülcan Karahanci (now Gülcan Kamps ) published in August 2003, celebrating a huge success. The single immediately entered the Top 20 of the German Single Charts and remained among the 15 best-selling singles in Germany for two and a half months. Thus he made his breakthrough in Germany and reached an even larger fan base.
In January 2005 his new maxi single came on the European market: İsyankar (feat. Gentleman ) - a new edition of his big hit from last year in Turkey . İsyankar stayed at number 1 on the Turkish charts for eight weeks, reached the top 10 charts in Germany , Austria and Switzerland and was number 1 on MTV and VIVA for weeks . For this he was awarded a gold record in 2006.
In 2007 the artist released another album called Devamı Var . The first single with the İndir got off to a successful start in Turkey, including a video clip. A video clip was also shot for the follow-up song Melek Yüzlüm . His next album, called Karizma , was released on July 13, 2009 in Turkey. Ateş et ve Unut and Karizma come from the producer Bojan Dugić , who has also produced artists such as Britney Spears , Jennifer Lopez , Destiny's Child etc. Mustafa Sandal's last album Organik was released on June 11, 2012.
Private
Mustafa Sandal married the Serbian pop singer Emina Jahović on January 13, 2008 . The two pop singers have two sons. The marriage ended in divorce in 2018.
In addition to Turkish , Sandal also speaks English , French and Italian .
