Zerrin Özer
Zerrin Özer (born November 4, 1957 in Ankara ) is a Turkish pop singer.
biography
Zerrin Özer is one of the hottest Turkish singers in Turkey today, she is the younger sister of Tülay Özer . In Ankara, she successfully completed elementary school, middle school and high school. Zerrin Özer's greatest role model was the American singer Janis Joplin . In 1975 she took part in a singing competition at the Turkish broadcaster TRT and won first place. That was also her first step in her music career. Among other things, she received support from her sister Tülay Özer. Their first album "Bizler ve Sizler - Yalvaririm" came out in 1976. The album was then released by the company "Kent Plak". She then worked as a singer and dancer with the Istanbul Gelisim Orchestra.
In 1979 she brought the album "Gönül" onto the market with the support of the singer Orhan Gencebay, for which she went platinum. In 1980 their third album "Seni Seviyorum" came out which was also a great success. In 1982 she gave a concert in Paris with the singer Eyfel Kulesi under the name "Binbir Gece". She has received numerous music awards.
In 1990 she married the musician Alper Önal, from whom she separated again in 1991. In 1991 her album "Sevdigini Bil" flopped and she temporarily withdrew from the music business. In 1996 she returned with the album "Zerrin Özer", and a year later she released the album "Zerrin Özer 97". Both were again a great success. In 2000 she was awarded the “Best Album 2000” award for her album “Bir Zerrin Özer Arsivi”. In 2006 she married Levent Süren. Zerrin Özer is one of the most successful pop singers in Turkey today.
