Yonca Evcimik (born September 16, 1963 in Istanbul ) is a Turkish pop musician and actress who rose to be one of the most successful pop musicians in Turkey in the 1990s.
Life
Yonca Evcimik is a graduate of the ballet department of the State Conservatory of Mimar Sinan University . Between 1978 and 1990 she only worked as a musical actress and theater actress . She played the main role Bediş in the successful Turkish series Çılgın Bediş (1996), and she also played in the Turkish series Selena (2006).
Career
During the 1990s she dominated Turkish pop music and the Turkish music charts. Her debut album Abone “Dansçı” , released in 1991, sold 2.8 million times and gave her her musical breakthrough; the album is still the most successful debut album by a singer in Turkey. In 1994, 8. 15 Vapuru was released as the first single in Turkey. In the same year she released her third studio album Yonca Evcimik '94 on the Turkish market, whereupon the single 8:15 Vapuru was represented as a remix version. This album sold 1,900,000 copies and ranks as their second best studio album.
Her sixth single, Tweetine Bandım , which advertised the social network Twitter in Turkey, was released on July 26, 2010.
To mark her 20th anniversary as a singer, she released her first compilation on March 16, 2012, which is called 5'i 1 Yerde . The compilation comes as a box set and contains their first three studio albums Abone , Kendine Gel , Yonca Evcimik '94 , as well as their single Yaşasın Kötülük and their remix album The Best Of Yoncimix Remixes . In the compilation, however, there was a difference to the Yonca Evcimik '94 CD, since the title 8:15 Vapuru contains the original version and not the remix version. On September 6, 2012, she released her seventh single, Yallah Sevgilim , on the Turkish record company DMC . The music video for Yallah Sevgilim followed on September 13, where it celebrated its world premiere on YouTube .
Animal welfare
She has been committed to animal welfare in Turkey since 2010, along with many other artists in Turkey. She is particularly committed to dogs. She even met the Minister President of Turkey in front of the camera. In June 2011 she released the single Seni Hâlâ Seviyorum ( Eng . "I still love you") with a large number of singers and actors . For this purpose, a music video was recorded with everyone and it deals with the subject of animals. The music video often shows a dog, but also cats. The production itself also came from Yonca.
