Megaloh (born February 27, 1981 in Frankfurt am Main ; real name Uchenna van Capelleveen ) is a German rapper of Dutch - Nigerian descent from Berlin-Moabit . He was the owner of the Level Eight label . Megaloh is now under contract with EMI MP as a top line writer & vocal coach .

The stage name Megaloh is derived from the Greek word for "large" (μεγάλος = megálos).

biography

Megaloh, who also works as a warehouse worker , was initially a member of the English-speaking group Royal Authority . Between 1994 and 2001, the Berliner rapped in English . In 2000 Megaloh wrote his first German texts. A year later, Megaloh met the American rapper Kurupt .

In 2002 he founded the record label Level Eight together with the French producer KD Supier , where, in addition to the two founders, Battle Rapp was also under contract. With the latter he released the EP Game Set Match in 2003 , which was named demo of the month in Juice the next month .

Megaloh attended the French high school in Berlin and studied business administration for some time . He set priorities in his work as a rapper and for the label, which is why he gave up studying.

In 2005 Megaloh made a guest contribution to the album Neue Deutsche Welle by rapper Fler . This earned him much of his notoriety. Megaloh later described the collaboration as purely business. On July 4, 2005, Megaloh's album Im Game was released. Furthermore, the mixtape Time for the Dog appeared in 2005 on Level Eight . This was mixed by DJ Luvsick, moderated by DJ Hazze and features guest contributions from musicians such as Ali A $, Sentino and Harris .

In 2006 the sampler Reim business was released , on which the productions of KD Supier are the focus. The sound carrier contains contributions from various well-known rappers such as Massiv , Samy Deluxe , KIZ , Sentino , MC Basstard and Jonesmann .

In 2007 Megaloh recorded the album Alles Negertiv with the Mannheimer Sprachtot over a period of three days . The sound carrier was marketed by the hip-hop musician Frauenarzt and released through his label Ghetto Musik . The connection to gynecologist came about as part of the production of rhyme business . For the sampler, Megaloh recorded the piece Tanz an der Pole together with gynecologist and MC Bogy . Sprachtot was also known to the gynecologist in advance through contact with King Orgasmus One .

In 2009, Megaloh rapped a rap version of the song Alles can get better together with Xavier Naidoo .

In October 2010 the Moabite published the EP Monster , which was first made available for download free of charge for three days and then distributed as a download via the net label YouTunez.com. Gefickt (Schande) was released as a video single .

In May 2011 he rapped together with Max Herre and Samy Deluxe on the rap version of the song Nobody (What We Do Not Do) by Joy Denalane . The song was published on a CD for the hip-hop magazine Juice . A month later he signed an exclusive artist contract with Herres and Denalane's label Nesola . In addition, Megaloh recorded a verse in 2011 for the remix of the track Hands Up by Hamburg-based Samy Deluxe. The piece was also implemented visually. Megaloh is also featured on Max Herre's third solo album, with the song is rap .

In 2013, Megaloh's first studio album in 8 years, Endlich infinitely , was released, which was largely produced by its producer Ghanaian Stallion . This immediately made it to number 9 in the charts.

In 2014 he was on the album push of Afrob with the song RIP involved as a feature guest. This song was released as a single on May 2, 2014.

The album Regenmacher was released in March 2016 . This rose to number 2 in the charts, which is his most successful release to date. He also rapped together with Keno from Moop Mama on the album MOOPTopia in the song Der Herr der Lage and on the beginner album in the song Thomas Anders.

In 2017, Megaloh joined forces with Musa and Ghanaian Stallion to form the BSMG project . With the album Platz an der Sonne they reached number 38 in the German charts.
