Samson Jones (born March 5, 1979 in Frankfurt am Main ) is a German singer who previously appeared as a rapper under the stage name Jonesmann . From 2007 to 2011 he ran the record label Echte Musik .

Life

Jones comes from Frankfurt-Bonames . His father is African American and his mother is German. He is the brother of the rapper Real Jay.

Jonesmann met Azad and Jeyz through D-Flame in 1992 . In 1994 he founded the Chabs crew with Jeyz and Chan . They were produced by Roey Marquis II , among others , and were able to earn a good reputation in the scene. In 2001 the Chabs split up because the members wanted to concentrate on their solo careers. In the following time Jonesmann had guest appearances on the releases of Roey Marquis II, Olli Banjo , Jack Orsen and Azad, among others .

His first solo release was Best of Mixtape in 2003, an overview of Jonesmann's previous works. A year later he released a 7-track EP with Pal One called Wanted, Found . Here Jonesmann tested his singing qualities for the first time. At the same time, Jonesmann was signed by Bozz-Music this year and worked on the sampler BOZZ Music Vol. 1 . At the end of 2004 the second mixtape was released with the name Macht, Käse, Flows, Cash , which attracted attention with mostly exclusive pieces. In 2006 Jonesmann released his first solo album SJ and on June 2nd the mixtape In dein Mund , a collection of already published and additional five exclusive tracks. Together with Xavier Naidoo he went on tour in 2006.

At the end of 2007 his contract with the label Bozz-Music and SonyBMG / Subword ended and he founded his label Echte Musik . In 2008 his second solo album Echte Musik was released. The producers phreQuincy , Benny Blanco and Shuko were involved in Real Music , features came from Azad , Olli Banjo and Manuellsen , among others .

His label Echte Musik was dissolved in April 2011 because Jonesmann withdrew. In 2016 he released the album Angekommen under his real name . Until 2017 he was under contract with the label Über die Grenz.
