Olli Banjo was born the son of a Nigerian and a German. He grew up in Aschaffenburg in Lower Franconia . In his youth he aspired to a football career and made it into the Bayern selection.

As a 16-year-old Banjo became a member of the rap group Maximum Volume , which released a single together with Fresh Familee , Den Fantastischen Vier , Den Coolen Säuen and the Reimbanditen as Die deutsche Reimachse .

In 2001 Olli Banjo published his first 12 ". It was released under the title Rotlicht / Du und mein Penis . The editors of the hip-hop magazine Juice chose the record as the 12" of the month.

In April 2003 the 12 " Notruf EP was released , which he continued with the album Erste Hilfe in May 2003. After this album, various single releases and live concerts, Olli Banjo presented his new mixtape Sparring in 2004. On this CD are among others Find songs with Kool Savas , Curse and Sido .

On August 1, 2005, the album Schizogenie was released . It entered the charts at number 39.

The mixtape Sparring 2 was released on June 9, 2006 and reached number 42 in the charts. In addition to some solo songs, the CD also features performances with well-known German rap stars, including Samy Deluxe and Sido .

At the end of 2006, the album David Generation by the group “ Zeichen der Zeit” was released , for which Olli Banjo contributed a solo track and a feature.

On October 31, 2007, the short film Kingz was broadcast on MTV , in which Olli Banjo played one of the leading roles alongside Bela B. The film had previously been shown on October 6, 2007 on 13th Street pay TV .

In June 2007 Olli Banjo released his third solo album Lifeshow with features by Jonesmann and Chamillionaire . On November 9, 2007 a sampler was released in the form of a CD under the name Lost Tapes . It contains partially unpublished songs and remixes and the instrumental for the premier class as well as some songs that were previously only available for internet portals.

On April 25, 2008, the third part of his sparring series was released via Headrush Records . The mixtape Sparring 3 was produced by Roe Beardie, Melbeatz and the Beatgees , among others . In addition to well-known feature guests such as Kool Savas and Curse, collaboration partners such as Planet Asia , FR , B-Tight and KIZ are also represented.

On February 27, 2009, the collaboration album with Jonesmann 4 Fists for a Hallelujah was released on the label Echte Musik .

On May 28, 2010, Olli Banjo's fourth solo album was released with Kopfdisco . The album includes guest contributions from Xavier Naidoo and Kool Savas . The Frankfurt-based producer duo Bounce Brothas was mainly responsible for the beats this time . Kopfdisco is the rapper's most commercially successful release to date. The album reached number 15 in the German album charts.

In the second half of 2013 Banjo hosted an audiovisual rap battle organized by HometownTV , in which, in addition to Rap on Wednesday and AggroTV, various other scene-relevant institutions made jury members.

On August 29, 2015 he took part in the Bundesvision Song Contest 2015 as “Wunderkynd” and came in 16th and last. A negative record of 2 points was set.
