Marc Reis (born November 9, 1982 ) is a German-American rapper from Mannheim . By 2010, he was also under the stage name Sprachtot , Sonnik boom and Szonyke operates.

biography

Marc Reis grew up in the Mannheim working-class district Neckarstadt . At the end of the nineties he came into contact with hip-hop culture . After a phase in which he appeared as a graffiti sprayer, he turned his attention to rap. The first live appearances followed in 2001, including as a back-up rapper for Pal One . Through this experience I made contact with one of the organizers of regional hip-hop events. Together they founded the label Roh-lexx Records , with which Marc Reis was now under contract as an artist, which enabled him to make his first studio recordings . In 2003 Marc Reis published the EP 68 Guide Numbers?!? Under the name Sprachtot . , which was pressed in an edition of 500 .

After further feature contributions , the street tape Why just a tape? . The next release followed a year later, Why just a mixtape? . At the same time was crude lexx Records to Unterdrukk Music renamed. In the same year the online EP Why only Promo? which was also distributed as a promo CD at the splash! festival . Because of the increased level of familiarity, the Moabite rapper Megaloh and his producer KD-Supier became aware of Marc Reis. As a result, the two recorded the collab album Alles Negertiv , which was produced by Frauenarzt . The release was supposed to serve as a foretaste of another joint album by the two, which however never appeared.

Before that, in 2006 the mixtape Why Another Mixtape? - Friends become enemies! . Shortly after the release of Alles negertiv , Marc Reis collaborated on the album BDMV with DmC. In February 2008 the CD God’s Bloody Path was released. His popularity also grew through his regular collaboration with Chakuza and DJ Stickle . Marc Reis later moved from Mannheim to Berlin .

In 2010, Sprachtot decided to only perform under his real name Marc Reis from now on , as he lost the rights to his previous stage name Sprachtot . Shortly thereafter, he released the free online mixtape The Manhattan Project , which included songs recorded between 2006 and 2009. In addition, a video was made for the piece What does that mean? released.

As part of Chakuza's Monster on Tour tour, on which Marc Reis appeared in the opening act, the tour mixtape 68% private - listening was available at your own risk .

The Pegasus Project followed on January 1, 2011 , and was the successor to the Manhattan Project and again contained unreleased songs from the Sprachtot era. Lean, Raf Camora , Chakuza , DmC and Bizzy Montana were featured as guests .

On March 4, 2011, Marc Reis released his debut album Monolog . In addition, music videos were shot on Chill Hart , Time for Me , Headphones , Monologue (I dance alone) and Tanz der Teufel . In addition, he appeared in the web series Shut Up , where he presented the title Bourbon Soundz .

In January 2014 his second solo album Nostalgie was released .

The EP Moments was released on September 12, 2014 .
