CashMo (born April 17, 1984 ; bourgeois Achim Welsch in Stolberg ) is a German rapper and music producer .

biography

After his parents separated, Cashmo grew up with his mother and sister in Duisburg. At the age of eleven he came to the youth home after several behavioral problems such as theft , where he came into contact with US rap. At the age of 15 there were again conflicts with the law and Cashmo was sentenced to six months in prison . Shortly after his release, Cashmo was sentenced to another three-year prison term for a gas station robbery . Cashmo also heard the first German rappers in the Siegburg correctional facility and wrote his first rhymes while in prison. This brought him into contact with other inmates with whom he recorded songs during the changeovers . In 2002 his stay in prison ended and Cashmo founded the rap formation "Rebellous-Soldia" together with Tu2Face, who became aware of Cashmo through the tapes recorded while he was in prison . After isolated regional successes, they sent demo tapes to various hip-hop labels three years after they were founded . Then Plattenpapzt reacted and guaranteed them a place on its upcoming release, which, however, never came about due to personal differences with Tu2Face. Later demo tapes were sent to labels again. So I got in touch with the radio station WDR , who bought a song from the rap group and played it on the radio from then on .

The rap format "Rebellous-Soldia" was dissolved a short time later and Cashmo concentrated on his solo career. In Aachen he opened his own studio , where he recorded his songs and now came into contact with record papzt again. Together they founded the label "Blokkmukke". In May 2008 the street album "Im Visier" was finally released. In February 2010 the freetrack "Beton Rap" was published, for which a video was shot. It should offer a foretaste of the announced debut album by Cashmo. Cashmo once had a contract with Baba Saad 's label Halunkenbande . His Free Ep 180 Degrees was released in 2013 . Before that, the Free EP Lost Tapes was released , on which MoTrip's older brother Elmo was featured.
