Seryoga (real name Sergei Wassiljewitsch Parchomenko ; born October 8, 1976 in Gomel , Belarusian SSR ) is a Belarusian rapper.

Seryoga works and lives mainly in Kiev , Ukraine . The native Belarusian has the greatest success in Russia , where he has already placed three singles at number 1 in the Russian charts and won three MTV Russia Awards . Career at home

The rapper grew up in a working-class family in Belarus.

His great success in the CIS countries began in 2004 with the first album Мой двор ( Moj Dvor ), which reached number 1 in the Ukraine, Russia and Belarus and continued with his international collaborations such as B. with producer Gilmano from Slow Jam . Over 900,000 official sales were registered in Russia alone, approx. 380,000 in Ukraine, approx. 20,000 CDs and 61,000 cassettes in Belarus.

In 2005 Seryoga wrote three songs for the Russian blockbuster Shadow Boxing (Boy s tenyu), including the successful track King Ring , which was nominated for best movie song at the 2006 MTV Russia Movie Awards. Seryoga later recorded the song Tamerlane for the hit movie The Guardian of the Day - Dnevnoi Dozor , the sequel to 'The Guardian of the Night - Nochnoi Dozor '. In December 2005 Seryoga released his second album Disco Malaria , which was produced for Seryoga by the Berlin producer Gilmano (Slow Jam). The album was revised in November 2006 by the same producer and provided with 8 new tracks and 4 remixes.

On September 21, 2006 Seryoga hosted the MTV Russia Music Awards in Saint Petersburg . At the award ceremony, the rapper presented a song specially written for the awards.

In 2006 Seryoga presented its own collection of Kangol hats with its KingRing logo next to the traditional kangaroo symbol. The rapper also signed an exclusive promotional contract with the American fashion label Rocawear in autumn 2006 .

International career

At the end of 2006 Seryoga began to publish records for the first time for the Western European market. For this his label KingRing was registered in the EU and a worldwide contract was signed with EMI Music Publishing .

The first destination is Germany , where Seryoga's management wants to test whether there is a market for Russian rap.

Seryoga became known in Germany through the music title 2Kaiser with the Frankfurt rapper Azad . Seryoga gives the reason why he chose Azad for the collaboration, that he has been following the career of the German rapper for several years and that this is the closest of all the German rappers he knows. The single 2Kaiser was released on November 24, 2006.

On December 15th, his label King Ring will release Seryoga's first European album Russia's No. 1 , which was also produced by producer Gilmano (Slow Jam) and accompanied as executive producer. He gets support for the publication from Azad, and the slow jam artists Rapturous , Eveleena and Skurril . For the single releases there were various collaborations with well-known remixers such as B. Shuko and Mastering Engineer Busy from True Busyness . He is also featured on the Sido single Ein Teil von mir with a Remix Featuring Part, he also appeared as a guest on Aggro Radio .

In April 2007 Seryoga was together with B-Tight at some concerts on the Halt's Maul - number entrance tour of the rapper Sido Support. On April 11th he was a guest with Sido on the MTV show TRL . The video for his single Gangsta No More could already reach number three in the TRL Most Wanted .

In December 2007 his song King Ring was chosen as background music for the third official trailer of the game Grand Theft Auto IV , to whose official soundtrack he also contributed some songs. The song 2 Kaiser can be heard in the film The Equalizer (2014), the title is not featured on the official soundtrack.

Seryoga studied German at Vechta University and therefore speaks fluent German.
