history

ZMF 2016 in Freiburg
Moop Mama rocking the Brocken (2015)
Moop Mama at TFF Rudolstadt (2012)

Moop Mama is best known for numerous short, unannounced guerrilla concerts in public spaces, such as in pedestrian zones and city parks. In order to strengthen the rapper compared to the rest of the band, the band uses a megaphone . The aim of these concerts is, according to their own statement, to recapture the public space, but because of alleged disturbances of the peace, there is often a confrontation with the police and regulatory authorities .

The band has already appeared on the shows Inas Nacht (ARD / NDR), ttt - titel, thesen, temperamente (ARD), Checker Can (KiKa) and Metropolis (arte). Furthermore, they are an integral part of the show Vereinsheim Schwabing (BR). They contributed parts of the soundtrack to the movie Father's Days - Grandpa Overnight and can also be seen as actors.

The band played so far u. a. at: Southside-Festival 2019 (Neuhausen ob Eck), Highfield-Festival 2016 (Großpösna), Mini-Rock-Festival 2016 (Horb), Fusion Festival (Lärz), Splash Festival (Ferropolis), Open Air Gampel (Gampel, CH ), Taubertal Festival (Rothenburg od Tauber), Burg Herzberg Festival (Breitenbach am Herzberg), TFF Rudolstadt (Rudolstadt), Zelt-Musik-Festival (Freiburg), Elbjazz Festival (Hamburg), in the framework of the Champions League final in Munich and as support for Jan Delay on the Tollwood (Munich).

In September 2012 the band gave performances in Thessaloniki and Athens at the invitation of the Goethe Institute . These were the first concerts outside the German-speaking area. In December 2013 Moop Mama was partly the opening act on the “New York, Rio, Rosenheim” tour of the band Sportfreunde Stiller . Together with these and bosses , they performed at the 1 Live Krone radio award ceremony in 2013 . In 2015 they toured with Jan Delay & Disko No. 1 on the Live 2015 tour through Germany. To promote the third album MOOP Topia , the band toured Germany by bike in May 2016.

In September 2018 the band performed a spontaneous solo concert in the Hambacher Forst to protest against the deforestation by RWE.

On June 21, 2019 Moop Mama played in front of several thousand people on a stage in front of the Tivoli in Aachen as part of a large demonstration by the climate protection organization Fridays for Future .
