Ghanaian stallion

Ghanaian Stallion (* 30th April 1981 as Alan Mensah in Pisa , Italy ) is a German-Ghanaian hip hop musician , producer and DJ . His father is from Ghana , his mother from Germany . Among other things, he is part of the German hip-hop supergroup BSMG .

Life

Born in Pisa, he moved to Berlin-Moabit after a few months and grew up there. When he was 12 years old, his family decided to move to Ghana. There he lived in Winneba for three years and, among other things , learned Fante . At the age of 15 he moved to Freiburg im Breisgau . After graduating from high school, he completed a bachelor's degree in tourism management and spent a year in Chile and Argentina in 2004/2005 . In 2006 he moved back to Berlin and completed his master's degree in tourism management at the Free University .

His musical socialization began as a child, because both parents are music enthusiasts. Soul , reggae , rock and African music run in the cafeteria household. Artists like Curtis Mayfield , Nina Simone , Bob Marley , Bunny Wailer , Fela Kuti and Youssou N'Dour are part of his everyday life. Musically he was also influenced by Stevie Wonder , James Blake , Pusha T , J. Cole , DJ Premier , Pete Rock and Havoc .

Career

He came into contact with rap through a friend during the golden era in the early 1990s. In 1999 he started buying records and started DJing at LAZER POSSE in Freiburg . Many parties, radio shows and sessions with DJ Skare and DJ Crook One follow. After his return to Berlin he continues to work with DJ Skare , who now also lives in Berlin. Together with a crew of promoters , he creates the party series "Everything Remains Raw - Remember the 90's", which has shaken up the hip-hop party scene in Berlin and is one of the most important rap events in the capital to date. As a resident DJ, he's still responsible for high quality rap that you don't normally hear in clubs. In Berlin, too, he came into contact with the rapper MEGALOH , an old sandpit friend from Berlin-Moabit . Ghanaian Stallion didn't start producing music until 2010, but because of its musical background, development has progressed rapidly - three of its first self-produced beats have already landed on Megaloh's digitally released "Monster" EP. A little later, the JUICE Exclusive followed. This is life and the dream of flying .

His own solo releases include Mudguard Developments , Gib him simply (Dies das 2), and Solo Fruits . He also produced the majority of the two Megaloh albums Endlich Unendet und Regenmacher. He has also produced beats for Audio88 & Yassin , Samy Deluxe , Marsimoto , Chefket , Amewu , Kalim , Chima Ede , Torky Tork , Hanybal , Döll , Lakmann and Dexter .

In 2017 he and his supergroup called BSMG , consisting of himself , Megaloh and Musa , released the album Platz an der Sonne on the Nesola Universal Music label , a sub-label of Universal Music .

In 2018 he released his first solo album Future Soul on the label Bamboo MGMT and in 2019 another album called Feature Soul will follow .

In 2020 he will release the song Tubaale together with the Viva con Agua Allstars .
