Kalim (* 1992 in Hamburg-Billstedt ; bourgeois Kalim Schamim , Pashto : کلیم شمیم) is a German rapper of Afghan origin. He is under contract with Universal Music .

Career

Kalim spent his childhood in the Hamburg district of Billstedt . He has Afghan roots. According to his own statements, he started rapping in 2006. In 2011 Kalim released his first mixtape Where I Live and caught the attention of SSIO 's manager who ran the label Alles oder Nix Records while Xatar was still in prison. At the end of 2011 he was signed and released the single AON Spezial together with Xatar and SSIO on the Youtube channel of Alles oder Nix Records. This was followed by collaborations with SSIO and Nate57 , among others . In 2014 he published his mixtape Six Crowns . His debut album Odyssey 579 was released on October 28, 2016 . In August 2018 Kalim announced the separation between him and the label “Alles oder Nix” on Instagram.

The main themes of his music are street life in Hamburg . Up to the album Odyssey 579, his beats were similar to West Coast music.
