SSIO
SSIO (born January 28, 1989 in Bonn ; real name Ssiawosch Sadat ) is a German rapper and producer of Afghan descent.
biography
Sadat's family had to flee their home country Afghanistan for political reasons in 1986. SSIO grew up in the Tannenbusch district of Bonn . At the turn of the millennium, the hip-hop culture first piqued SSIO's interest. He joined the independent label Alles oder Nix Records from Xatar in 2007 under the name Kanakonda . He later changed his stage name to SSIO . He called himself so because he was called سياه (pronounced Siah ; Persian for black ) since childhood because of his darker skin color compared to his family . His older brother Sohail Sadat also works for Alles oder Nix Records, where he runs the label management under the stage name Dingens in addition to Xatar .
In September 2012, SSIO released the Mixtape special material with which it entered the charts at number 69. A year later he released his debut album BB.UMSS.N , with which he entered the German charts at number 6 and was also in the top 20 in Austria and Switzerland. His album 0.9 , released on January 29, 2016, went straight to number 1 in the German album charts. At the same time, six individual tracks from the album were placed in the German single charts.
Musically, SSIO moves in the style of G-Funk and Boom bap of the 1990s and occasionally uses elements of New Jack Swing .
SSIO often uses bi-language in its texts, as used for example by Joachim Ringelnatz in his poem Poem in Bi-Language .
In addition to his life as a rapper, SSIO is studying business administration at the RheinAhrCampus Remagen of the Koblenz University of Applied Sciences .
